animation_color=&#8221;&#8221; animation_speed=&#8221;0.3&#8243; animation_delay=&#8221;0&#8243; animation_offset=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><em>The Neuro-behavioural Team provides a mobile specialty resource working with existing behaviour champions to address escalating responsive behaviours related to behavioural and psychological symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with Dr. Saha and Neuro-behavioural Nurse Practitioners, the team provides increased access to a specialized on-site service. In addition, they assist and facilitate comprehensive assessments of the residents and implement management strategies in liaison with staff.<\/p>\n<p>Using a patient-centered approach, they develop an individualized plan of care for managing behaviours, use pharmacological interventions, and provide non-pharmacological approaches for behaviour de-escalation with regular follow-up visits.<\/p>\n<p>Residents, healthcare professionals, staff, and families are provided with information on the diagnosis, treatment options, and modalities of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to improve the resident&#8217;s quality of life and decrease responsive behaviours, critical incidents, polypharmacy, and emergency department visits while advancing the knowledge and awareness of behavioural neurology related to dementia.<\/p>\n<p>If you have further questions, to determine program availability in CW catchment, or need assistance completing a referral to the Neuro-behavioural Team, don&#8217;t hesitate to contact the Behavioral Support Staff (BSO) or a leadership team member at your LTC.<\/p>\n<p>[\/fusion_text][\/fusion_builder_column][\/fusion_builder_row][\/fusion_builder_container]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[fusion_builder_container type=&#8221;flex&#8221;
